Our approach

What we stand for.

Good women’s healthcare is more than diagnosis and treatment. It begins with someone listening to you — and it doesn’t end at the consulting-room door. This is what we want to be measured by.

We’ve built this practice the way we’d want to be treated ourselves: personally, honestly and without feeling like just a number. Technology takes the routine off our hands — so more time is left for what really matters: the conversation with you.

How it all began

A fresh start on 1 July 2024.

Practice team kick-off in May 2024
Team kick-off, May 2024 — this is where our guiding principles took shape.

On 1 July 2024, Dr Marion Hansberg-Otte took over the practice on Rosgartenstraße from her colleagues Drs Hiß & Fröhlich. A well-established Konstanz practice became a deliberate fresh start — with the resolve to bring together good gynaecological medicine and a modern, human way of working together.

A handover like this is more than a new name on the doorbell. It’s about what a practice wants to stand for — and how that should feel day to day: at reception, in the waiting area, in the consulting room.

That’s why, even before the handover, on 3 May 2024 the whole team came together for a kick-off — doctors and medical assistants alike. In mixed small groups, with flip charts and even Lego bricks, we wrote down what this practice should stand for. Our guiding principles grew out of that day: five values that we don’t hang on the wall but live every day.

Our guiding principles

Vision, mission — and five values.

In the words we formulated together at the kick-off — and below, what each value means for you as a patient.

Our vision

We strive to be one of the leading gynaecological practices in Konstanz — and to be known far beyond it for outstanding medical care, innovation and the commitment of every single team member. Our practice should be a place where patients feel understood, seen and superbly cared for.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive gynaecological care based on the latest medical evidence — while, where wished, also taking into account the individual needs of our patients. We are committed to creating an environment shaped by clarity and kindness.

1

Teamwork & respect

We work as an integrated, multi-professional team that values everyone’s contribution. Respectful interaction and open communication are the foundation of how we work together.

For you this means: you meet a team that coordinates and has each other’s backs — and that lives the same respectful interaction with you too, in both directions.

2

Patient-centredness

Your health and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. We listen, inform and care with great attention.

For you this means: time instead of a stopwatch and decisions on equal terms — exactly the stances you’ll find below.

3

Innovation & quality

We rely on continuous training and integrating the latest developments to keep improving the quality of our medicine.

For you this means: digital ways that ease the load, and screening that looks ahead rather than merely reacting.

4

Integrity & trust

We act transparently — in our medical work as with add-on services (IGeL). Our patients’ trust is sacred to us.

For you this means: benefits, limits and costs always up front — and clear, fair rules. What that looks like in practice is set out in our house rules.

5

Flexibility & adaptability

We adapt to the changing needs of our patients and value the advances of holistic, sustainably oriented medicine.

For you this means: support through every stage of life — from your first appointment to menopause.

What we stand for

Six stances*

We translate our five values into six stances you’ll feel at every appointment — tap a card to see what that means in practice.

On equal terms

We explain what we do and why — in words you understand. You make the decisions. There’s no talking down to you here.

Time, not a stopwatch

Good decisions need calm. We schedule our appointments so there’s room for your questions — no rushing you through, no glancing at the clock.

Through every stage of life

From your first appointment through pregnancy and hormone questions to menopause — we support you over the long term, as a team that knows your story.

Digital where it helps

Online appointments, secure results, short paths through our digital reception. Technology should create closeness, not replace it — people stay at the centre.

Honest & transparent

We tell you clearly what makes medical sense — and what doesn’t. For add-on services you learn the benefits, limits and costs in advance. No hidden recommendations.

Screening brings reassurance

We think ahead rather than react. Early detection should give you reassurance — not be a source of fear. That’s exactly what we take time for.

So it stays fair

What this expressly does not mean.

Approachable, honest, on equal terms — and still with clear boundaries. For us, the two belong together.

Eye level & first-name termsdoesn’t mean…that anything goes. Respect runs both ways — pressure, insults or crossing boundaries are not tolerated.
Time for youdoesn’t mean…that appointments are non-binding. If you don’t cancel in time, you block another patient’s slot.
Honest & transparentdoesn’t mean…that we put everything “on insurance”. Whatever isn’t a statutory benefit, we name clearly — even when that’s a no.
Digital & easydoesn’t mean…that there are no rules. Results go through the secure area, not unencrypted email.
We take our timedoesn’t mean…that there’s never a wait. Emergencies come first — so we ask for a little patience.

All the ground rules → House rules

* Honest, because it belongs here

This is our goal — not the status quo of an ordinary statutory-insurance practice. We’ve deliberately chosen to rebuild. During the transition things may occasionally be bumpy, and not everything is perfect yet. From 1 January 2027 much of this will get noticeably better. We’re honest with you about where we stand — and where we’re heading.

Women’s health is a matter of trust.

We work every day to earn that trust — at every appointment, in every conversation.
