What you should know.
When should I come for fertility consultation?
Under 35: after about 12 months of unsuccessful attempts. Age 35+: already after 6 months. With cycle irregularities or known risk factors: also earlier.
What does it cost in total?
€150 initial consultation (anamnesis, vaginal ultrasound, recommendation). Plus €80–150 lab for hormone values. €230–300 total for the initial package. Private insurance usually reimburses.
What happens in the initial consultation?
Cycle anamnesis, lifestyle factors, history, vaginal ultrasound (ovaries, uterus), lab recommendation. If needed, referral to fertility clinic in Constance or Singen.
Should I measure AMH?
Not universally. AMH ("anti-Müllerian hormone") says something about egg reserve, but little about actual fertility. Useful for specific questions: over 35, long wait time, before IVF decision.
