Autonomy
You decide. We explain clearly; the choice stays with you.
So that everyone feels at ease here — a few simple points for a respectful, relaxed togetherness.
After more than two years in practice we know quite precisely what framework our practice leadership sets: what works, what doesn’t — and above all what for. These house rules capture that — mutual duties, their consequences and the virtues behind them. The bigger “what for” lives in our Philosophy.
We are deliberately reshaping our practice. A few typical questions — honestly explained, without judging anyone else.
Results are sensitive — unencrypted email is risky for that.
Phone hotline, post, or “please drop by again”.
A secure, encrypted chat area: result, follow-up question and answer in one place.
Email appointments quickly get messy and aren’t bindingly documented.
Constantly busy phone line, voicemail, callbacks — and still gaps.
Book online or by phone. Clara (our online reception) handles the routine, the team takes care of the rest.
More time per patient inevitably means fewer appointments per day.
Tightly clocked throughput, a full waiting room, little room for nuance.
Deliberately less throughput, more time to talk. Emergencies come first — so we ask for a little patience.
These services aren’t covered by statutory insurance — they don’t run through quarterly billing.
Billing via the insurance association in the background; for self-pay topics it often gets unclear.
IGeL before the appointment, private services afterwards — with fair, clear deadlines. Like anywhere you pay for a service directly.
Documentation takes time — time that would otherwise be missing from your conversation.
The doctor types along on the side, half an eye on the screen.
Optional recording for the transcript only — the audio file is not stored, and we obtain your consent separately. That way your doctor is fully present with you.
You are welcome here — whatever stage of life you are in or whatever brings you. We meet you respectfully, confidentially and on equal terms. That is exactly what we wish for in how we treat one another, too.
We schedule appointments online or by phone — not by email. Please cancel in good time if something comes up: a freed-up slot helps another patient. Try to arrive on time so we avoid waiting for everyone.
A valid email address is required with us — not just for online appointments. We place results and messages in your protected area (a secure chat, similar to our online reception). We do not send results by unencrypted email.
You reach your sensitive documents via a secure, encrypted chat area. There you find results, can ask questions and get feedback — protected and traceable, all in one place.
In the consulting room we sometimes use a recording so your doctor can focus entirely on the conversation with you. The audio is not stored — only a transcript or summary for your file. We obtain your consent separately via the privacy policy: filled in once and adjustable any time you wish.
A camera films in the entrance area — for your safety and ours. Incidents are documented and, if necessary, reported to the police. This practice is a safe place, especially for women. You can find the full GDPR notice at the practice entrance on the ground floor.
You pay for IGeL services directly before the appointment. Private services right afterwards — on request by invoice with a 10-day payment term. GOÄ services are due immediately. Nobody pays their hairdresser weeks later — fair for both sides. If you pay by invoice, we send a friendly reminder after 10 days, a formal reminder with fees after another 10; after 30 days we reserve the right to pass the outstanding claim to a debt-collection agency (Culpa Inkasso, Stuttgart).
Statutory insurance is a solidarity system: it pays for what is medically necessary in illness. Prevention beyond the fixed benefit catalogue and many health and longevity topics deliberately aren’t part of it. Asking us to run such services “through insurance anyway” is a clear no-go — that would be billing fraud at the expense of the solidarity community. If you expect that, we’re not the right fit; another practice is then the more honest choice.
Consulting hours sometimes mean waiting — emergencies come first. Thank you for your patience. Please keep the waiting area calm and tidy so it stays a pleasant place for everyone.
Please take calls quietly or outside. Photo, video and audio recordings are not permitted in the practice — to protect the privacy of all patients and the team.
Children are welcome — please keep an eye on them. For the little ones we have a play table and a changing table. If possible, arrange care for older children elsewhere so you can focus calmly on your appointment. A companion is welcome to support you; during the examination you decide who is present.
Help yourself any time at our water dispenser — sparkling or still, just as you like. Feel free to grab some while you wait.
In our waiting area there’s a small library with current, recommended literature on women’s health — and of course you’ll also find classic magazines. Please leave the books and magazines in the practice so everyone can enjoy them.
You can leave jackets and bags at the cloakroom. Please note: we cannot accept liability for items left there — it’s best to take valuables with you into the consulting room.
Please don’t flush tampons, pads, wet wipes or the like — our pipes are sensitive and clog quickly. Use the hygiene bins provided. Thank you!
Our air conditioning keeps the rooms comfortable. The practice team looks after ventilation and temperature — just let us know if you’re too warm or too cool.
With contagious infections (e.g. gastrointestinal illness, feverish cold) please call ahead — we’ll find a solution together and protect other patients that way.
We treat you kindly and with appreciation. Insulting, discriminatory or aggressive behaviour towards the team or other patients is not acceptable. The house right lies with Dr. Marion Hansberg-Otte; in the event of assaults we reserve the right to issue a ban from the premises.
An acute emergency? Call us at +49 7531 17666. Outside consulting hours, dial the medical on-call service 116 117, and in a real emergency 112.
By visiting our practice you accept these house rules. They serve the protection and well-being of all. · As of June 2026
Our framework isn’t an end in itself — it follows the four recognised core principles of medical practice.
You decide. We explain clearly; the choice stays with you.
We act for your good — with benefit, support and forward-looking prevention.
First, do no harm: care, safety and an honest sense of proportion.
Fair, equal treatment for everyone — in the solidarity system and with us.
