Midwife consultation
Midwife and doctors under one roof: with us, both professions complement each other instead of working side by side. For you that means short paths, shared knowledge — and support that does not end with the birth.
What the midwife consultation offers
- Pregnancy advice: everyday complaints (nausea, back, sleep), birth preparation, questions that arise between two doctor appointments
- Alternating check-ups: the midwife can take over parts of antenatal care — documented in the same maternity record, coordinated with your doctor
- Postpartum: the body’s recovery, cord care, weight checks, the first deep breath — at home or with us
- Breastfeeding counselling: latching, milk supply, sore nipples, weaning — practical help instead of good advice
Why midwife + doctor under one roof
The usual way: search for a midwife (often for months), parallel to the practice, two systems that do not talk to each other. Our way: the midwife is part of the team. Findings, maternity record and quick coordination run internally — if something medical shows during postpartum care, the appointment is quickly made, and vice versa. From autumn 2026 a second midwife joins the team, and we expand the course programme around birth and recovery.
Courses & groups
Birth preparation, postnatal recovery and pregnancy yoga are planned and will start step by step — on our roof terrace and in the practice rooms. The newsletter announces dates and registration; insurance subsidies for certified courses are foreseen. What already runs, you find on the courses page.
Frequent questions about the midwife consultation
Does this replace my postpartum midwife?
No — for daily home care right after birth you still need a postpartum midwife. Our consultation complements: advice, checks, breastfeeding help, and bridging if you have not found one.
What does insurance pay?
Midwifery care is largely covered: counselling, shares of antenatal care, postpartum care, breastfeeding advice. Certified courses are subsidised. Whatever would be private in your case, we tell you beforehand.
When should I get in touch?
For advice: any time. For planning postpartum care: ideally in the first trimester — the midwife shortage is real, and being early is the most effective trick.
Can I come without being a patient of the practice?
Ask us — depending on capacity it is possible. Priority goes to women whose pregnancy we look after, because there the cooperation creates the greatest benefit.
